Portsmouth

Portsmouth is a seaside city in the county of Hampshire on the south coast of England. It is situated 64 miles southwest from London and 19 miles southeast from Southampton.

The main exports from Portsmouth are wool and grain. The main imports are wine, woad for dyeing, wax for candles and iron.

In 1212 a building called the Domus Dei (house of God) was built at Portsmouth. It was a form of hospital where monks looked after sick and poor people. There was also a hostel for lepers outside the town.
